St John's Smith Square

Welcome to the Hanover Choir. We are a choir of about 30 people, based in the City of London near St Paul’s Cathedral. 60 years after our foundation in Hanover Square, we are still making great music and continuing to attract some of the liveliest people in London. We sing most types of Choral music - providing that it isn't deadly dull - and have occasionally dipped our toes into both Jazz and Folk repertoire.

Our last concert was held on June 21st, with music by Brahms and Gershwin.

Our Director of Music is Huw Morgan.

This year, we are particularly keen to recruit new singers to replace recent vacancies in the lineup. Membership is open to anyone with a good voice and some knowledge of musical notation. Singing with us is a stimulating and enjoyable experience, where your voice makes a real impact. Musicians generally agree that smaller choirs are best for a pure and precise sound, and singers generally appreciate the more informal atmosphere.

Click here to find out more about joining. As a long-established choir, we are naturally affiliated to the National Federation of Music Societies, and have achieved the status of a Registered Charity ( # 295306).

Last season’s program was highlighted by some spectacular successes with challenging works, and we look forward to another year of musical excellence.
